 Alpacas of Kilblaan Farm

in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire

Since 1997

Welcome to Alpacas of Kilblaan Farm, breeding quality alpacas in  the beautiful Monadnock region of southern New Hampshire since 1997. We are a fulltime family run farm. Our  herd of 40 alpacas is relatively small and our alpacas are carefully selected and bred for conformation; fineness, character and density of fleece; and behavioral traits.  Our seventeen years of  experience with alpacas and our active participation in the alpaca community  give us the depth of knowledge to  help anyone who comes to us.

All of our breeding decisions are directed to improve the quality of our crias (baby alpacas). While we have some alpacas that are pure Peruvian or pure Chilean we believe that we can often improve on their traits through crossing lineages; and base our breeding decisions, not on country of origin, but by carefully choosing each alpaca breeding pair for what both partners can bring to the table.

When someone comes to our farm and is interested in alpaca breeding, we know we'll be spending a lot of time with them.  We like to find out what sort of farm they want:  will they be breeding for fiber, for showing, for  the sales of breeding stock, or just to enjoy having alpacas around.

Next we talk about how to care for alpacas.  We are happy to educate new breeders about husbandry, pasture development, barns and fencing, whatever they need to know.  With his background in medicine and his interest in researching the health needs of alpacas, John is a resource people call on frequently for advice.  Our customers know that they can ask us for help at any time.  We love to see them succeed.  We always advise new breeders to go to shows and workshops to get as much exposure as possible to information that helps them make decisions about what animals to buy, how to make good breeding matches, and how to develop a business plan.

All of our alpacas are registered with the Alpaca Registry International (ARI)
